A programme was organised at the UIHMT College on the occasion of the World Cancer Day on Monday. Addressing the students, the vice- chancellor of the HNB Garhwal Medical University, Hem Chandra Pandey said that they must stay away from substance abuse and make the people aware of the reasons leading to Cancer.
The chairman of the institute, Lalit Joshi said that smoking and consumption of tobacco are major causes of cancer. A debate on ways to make a society free from drug abuse was also held in the college.
