Kaliyar (Haridwar) Police Station in-charge Ramesh Tanwar was transferred while constable Manvendra Singh was suspended after they were found receiving `60, 000 against providing undue advantage to an accused Anish who was arrested in the case (97/2016). A case was registered under sections 302/120b of IPC against Anish in the police station. IG Sanjay Kumar Gunjyal ordered SP City Manikant Mishra to conduct a thorough inquiry into the case. The decision to take action against the two cops followed the crime review meeting with the district police officers on Wednesday.
