The statehood activists resorted to a vociferous protest outside the Reserve police line in the Racecourse area. Under the banner of ‘Uttarakhand Rajya Nirman identified activists association’ the activists demanded that the Sate Government should provide uniform pensions, status of statehood activists, 10 per cent reservation in the jobs and proper identification.
The secretary of the association Shailendra Bhatt said that the statehood activists have sacrificed a lot for the creation of the State and they are pained when they observe that services are not being recognised by the Government.
Many activists had arrived from different parts of the State to be part of the protest outside the police line where the ceremonial parade was attended by the State Governor, the CM and other dignitaries.
