Statehood activists demanded Gairsain be made permanent capital

Demanding that Gairsain be declared as the permanent capital of Uttarakhand, statehood activists on Monday conducted a protest march towards Vidhan Sabha.

They were stopped at the Rispana barricading by the police force, after which they submitted their memorandum to the officials concerned.

Under the banner of Gairsain Rajdhani Nirman Abhiyan (GRNA) statehood activists marched towards Vidhan Sabha.

The president of GRNA, Manoj Dhyani said the state which was made for the development of people in the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand, still after 19 years does not have its permanent capital.

In fact even after construction infrastructure in Gairsain, esteemed MLAs of Uttarakhand feel the weather their too cold.

GRNA demands that taking cognisance of the difficult yet unique geographical conditions of Uttarakhand, important cabinet decisions and other administrative work should be done from Gairsain.

This will not only help the policy makers in understanding the practical needs of the general public, but in fact this will in real essence be the result of devotion and sacrifice of statehood activists.

It is pertinent to mention here that Uttarakhand is the 27th State of the country, which came into being after repeated protests conducted by the statehood activists demanding a separate State for the development of mountainous regions and its people.
