Leaving the security personnel and the administration baffled, some identified statehood activists sneaked their way near the main entrance of Vidhan Sabha on the maiden day of the winter session of the Assembly during their protest on Tuesday.
These activists associated with ‘Identified Statehood Activist Committee’ have been on a stir path on their five- point charter of demands.
As the Assembly session was in progress, some of the activists suddenly appeared near the main entrance of the Vidhan Sabha while yelling slogans.
The police personnel on duty, however, got their act together and arrested them. The activists are demanding that the pending applications received before the cut- off date of December 31, 2017 should be disposed off promptly.
They further want the state government to implement at the earliest the Uttarakhand High Court (HC) order for 10 percent horizontal reservation in the government jobs for the statehood activists.
They are also demanding uniform pension for all the identified statehood activists and declaration of Gairsain as permanent capital of the state.
