The Youth Congress will undertake a protest campaign against the Central Government’s land Acquisition Bill in the State. A signature campaign, gherao of the BJP State office and demonstrations in the district headquarters will be held as part of this campaign.Addressing the media, Tehri parliamentary constituency Youth Congress head Shivesh Bahuguna said that in the first stage of the campaign to protest against the land Acquisition Bill, the Youth Congress will organise a signature campaign from January 16 to 28.
“We will intensify our movement against the anti-public policies of the Central Government. The land Acquisition Bill passed by the Centre is akin to the laws faced by the farmers during the colonial era. We will conduct a public awareness campaign against this and gherao the BJP MPs and MlAs on this issue.
We will raise public awareness and exert pressure on the Central Government to withdraw the bill,” said Bahuguna.He alleged that attempts were being made to usurp the lands of farmers through the land Acquisition Bill at a time when the cost of seeds, manure and agriculture equipment was rising.
