Aanchal Somani of Delhi Public School, Haridwar who topped Uttarakhand by scoring 97.8 per cent marks in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class XII examination expressed her wish to become an engineer. Somani attributed her success to her five hours dedicated study and support of her parents and teachers. Her hobbies are swimming, skating and dancing. She is a good Kathak dancer. Her father Sunil Kumar Somani said that she had consistently performed well in her past examinations. Apart from attending classes in the DPS, Haridwar, she was attending classes in Aakash Institute for the last two years. She secured 100 marks in Mathematics, 95 in English, 98 each in Chemistry and Physics.
