State Govt's claims fall flat: BJP

Published on:

launching a scathing attack on the State Government for its ‘All is well’ claim on Char Dham Yatra, the Uttarakhand BJP president Tirath Singh Rawat said that initial spell of rains at the inception of this year’s monsoon has exposed the State Government’s hollow claims. Interacting with the mediapersons at State party office on Tuesday, Rawat said he was on a five-day tour of State after recent heavy rains which lashed the State and found out that most of the bridges on Char Dham Yatra route have collapsed.

“The fact that most of these bridges were built after the disaster of 2013 and they could not withstand first rain underlies the scam in the disaster rebuilding activities” he said. The BJP leader informed that Bridge built recently at Soneprayag on Kedarnath route stands collapsed and hundreds of pilgrims are stranded.

Similarly, road repair work at lambagar on Badrinath route would take many days. He said that only affluent pilgrims’ are availing the service of Choppers which at `7000 per person is very costly.

The BJP president said that in Dharchula which happens to CM’s constituency, Kacholi Bridge near Narayan Ashram, Sabla in Darma valley and Nangling and Elagoal bridges en route to Kailsah Mansarovar are damaged.

He blamed the State Government for colluding with mining mafia and ignoring the plight of common people at Maletha in Tehri Garhwal. “The State Government is being virtually run by land mafia, and these people could be seen around Chief Minister”, Rawat claimed. He said that three Ministers of Uttarakhand are under the lens of Enforcement Directorate (ED) for money laundering activities and he would soon expose the names of these ministers.
