In a bid to check illegal mining, which are prevailing in the State and being patronised by the politician, the State Government is going to make foolproof transparent policy and constitute effective enforcement agency as well. Now onward silt, which gets deposited in agriculture land, will be removed by the mining department throung auction only.

This was disclosed by the state Mining Development council (SMDC) Chairman Kunwa Pranav Singh Champion while addressing to the media at his office in Vidhan sabha on Tuesday. In which concerned district administration will be made accountable for this.

He further said that anti mining vigilance force has failed to check illegal mining effectively because their relatives are deeply involved in illegal mining or being associated with mafia directly or indirectly. He also reiterated that if mining happens after September 1 then he would take its responsibility.

In sensitive places state would install CCTV camera and will give compensation to the farmers if their land damages with silt, which comes along with rainy water, but their silt will be sold by the state through auction only. With this local people would be able to buy construction material from nearby retailer shops. Farmers can excavate soil from their land as per their requirement. Such permission was available to the hilly farmers only and now the facility will be available in plains as well.

After June disaster 2013, then chief minister Vijay Bahuguna had made aerial survey of Haridwar and announced Rs 63 crore for the repair of infrastructure and construction of new infrastructure as well. Despite CM’s announcement finance department did not release the budget so that construction could not begin in February. Instead of February 2014  they released the budget in May so that repair works were made hurriedly and meanwhile Monsoon came.

He further said that after disaster a delegation of 300 farmers led by him met chief minister and had appealed to postpone the collection of revenue, power tariff and installment of agriculture loan from farmers but yet to see progress in it. Now government has taken cognizance on their petition and most probably decision would come shortly.
