The Congress-led State Government is making efforts to ensure that the people in Uttarakhand benefit from various Governmental schemes and facilities. On the other hand, the BJP has continued to misguide the public, alleged the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Kishore Upadhyay. He said this while interacting with party workers and locals at Chidderwala in Rishikesh Vidhan Sabha constituency on Sunday.
According to the PCC spokesman Dr RP Raturi, after attending a programme during his tour of the Vidhan Sabha constituency, the PCC chief heard the issues and problems raised by the general public and party workers. Upadhyay said, “The general public has a lot of expectations from the Congress party because the Congress has always drafted development schemes keeping the common man as the focal point. The intention of Congress governments has been to ensure that the benefit of governmental welfare schemes is enjoyed by the general public. The party has always aimed at providing development even to the last person in society,” claimed the Congress State chief.
Addressing the local party workers, Upadhyay said that the party can execute its intentions only if the party stands strong up to the booth level. He further said that the party workers have to undertake the task of ensuring that information about the developmental efforts of the State Government reaches the general public so that they are able to benefit from various government schemes. Targeting the BJP, the PCC chief alleged the chief opposition party has been mainly misleading the public.
He said, “The prime minister Narendra Modi and national leaders of the BJP are playing a joke on the voters by referring to major announcements made during the lok Sabha elections as political platitude. Since forming its government at the Centre, the BJP has done little more than treating Uttarakhand with a bias. By making reductions in the State Budget and funds for centrally funded schemes, the Centre has pushed back our disaster affected State in the development race and stamped down on the rights of the common public,” alleged the PCC chief.
