State Govt has failed on all fronts, alleges Pant

Published on:

BJP State General Secretary and veteran BJP leader, Prakash Pant said that the economic status of Uttarakhand has been deteriorating with the Congress-led State Government has borrowed Rs5,900 crore from the open market in the last two years to run the Government machinery. Pant lamented that the State is under the debt of Rs28,49,894 crore.

After cornering the State Government for its lethargic approach for not pushing the State further on the path of progress, Pant lamented that the GDP of Uttarakhand was 9.3 per cent in 2010-11 which now plunged to five per cent in the last two years. While addressing the mediapersons in Pant said that the State Government has failed on all fronts for pushing the State

further on the path of economic and overall development of the State.

While presenting the data, Pant alleged that the prices of all the essential commodities are rising day after day and Union and State Government has completely failed to curb it. Pant lamented that cap on lPG cylinders and quashing couple of beneficiary schemes and projects introduced during the BJP regime in State shows

anti-people and insensitive attitude of the UPA and the State Government.

While briefing about the decisions taken in the recently concluded BJP executive meeting held at Ramnagar, Pant said that economic and political resolution was passed for the overall development of Uttarakhand. After expressing his concern over the callous approach of the State Government for not redressing the grievances of disaster hit victims, Pant demanded from the State Government to quash all types of taxes and electricity and water bills in the disaster hit areas of the State.

Speaking on the occasion, Abhimanyu Kumar, co media in-charge, cornered the Congress-led State Government over its failure in the disaster management for redressing the grievances of disaster hit victims. He lamented that Government response is still awaited in around 200 villages in the disaster hit areas of the State besides, 350 villages are still facing the acute shortage of potable water and 400 connecting roads in the mountainous parts of the State are still blocked for the vehicular flow of traffic.

He said that despite the fact the 67days had passed since the natural calamites struck in Uttarakhand, the State Government is yet to introduce effective measures for redressing the grievances of disaster hit victims in the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of Uttarakhand.
