Dozens of Government employees under the banner of Uttarakhand Ministerial Collectorate Employees Union continued their protest on second day at Dehradun Collectorate and other district headquarters in support of their two point demands on Thursday.
Due to ongoing protest of collectorate employees, more than 200 residents who reached Collectorate for completion of various works like issuance of various types of certificates and other related works had to return back empty handed.
Instead of sitting in their office the employees reached protest site within collectorate and shouted anti government slogans. District officers were seen advising the visitors to reach collectorate after Monday because collectorate employees’ protest will continue till Friday with Saturday being holiday.
The association State general secretary Ashish Gupta said that despite written assurances regarding redressal of their pending demands released by the state government in December 2011, the state government has not released sought GO so far. The demands include reserving 10 per cent seats of Nayab Tehsildar for ministerial employees, reformation of collectorate and others.
“We will intensify our protest across the State if demands are not met soon, “ he warned.
