Taking cognisance on day-to-day coordination problem due to creation of four police ranges, State Government has decided to dissolve two ranges with immediate effect on Saturday.
Now only two police ranges namely Kumaon and Garhwal would exist in the State. Earlier, State Government had created four police ranges namely Pithoragarh and Nainital in Kumaon division and Dehradun and Pauri in Garhwal Division. Now they have abolished Pithoragarh and Pauri ranges.
As per the new order IPS officer PK Sailal, who was posted as DIG Pauri range, has been transferred as DIG intelligence and IPS Sanjay Gunjiyal, who was posted as DIG Nainital range, has transferred as DIG PAC.
Sailal was recently sent as Pauri DIG around a month back. GS Martolia, who was posted as DIG Pithoragarh range, has been transferred as DIG, CB-CID. Amit Sinha, who was posted as DIG Dehradun range, has been given responsibility of Garhwal range DIG.
