It may sound strange but true that the State Government is going to have mining on mass scale in near future. For this, Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna has given enough hint while interacting with media after the Congress legislature party meeting in the Chief Minister’s camp office in Dehradun on Monday.
During interaction, he categorically said that Prime Minister has firmly mentioned that the State Government should take concrete measure to check flood, which happens every year, to avoid land erosion. It has been noticed that huge amount of debris have deposited on river bed; so as it received rain water, the river encroached their banks and brought floods. “Due to flood rivers, river banks have received huge amount of debris; so we have to remove it to avoid soil erosion.”
