Dehradun district magistrate SA Murugesan has named nodal officers for the upcoming state foundation day celebration slated on November 9 on Monday. A marathon covering seven kilometres would be held from Bindal bridge crossing and it would follow the route as Doon School, RIMC, Post Office crossing and Jaswant Singh Ground and return to Bindal bridge on the same route.
District sports officer, Dehradun has been made the convener of the programme. Jal Sansthan officer has been directed to make proper arrangements of drinking water at the venue. The city magistrate and district sports officer have been directed to conduct inspection of marathon route before it starts.
SP City and SP Traffic have been directed to ensure that traffic is smooth during the marathon in the areas to be covered. The chief medical officer has been directed to deploy ambulances and make necessary arrangements of medicines during the marathon. The executive engineer has been directed to fill potholes on the marathon routes.
DM Murugesan has appointed director of culture, city magistrate and SP city as the nodal officers for the programme of paying homage to the martyrs. Senior superintendent of police would be the nodal officer for the state foundation parade. For cleanness drive at municipalities and blocks, DM has appointed the municipal commissioner, executing officers of municipality, nagar panchayat andblock development officers as nodal officers. Director of culture department and tehsildar have been named as nodal officers for the cultural programme to be held at Pavilion Ground on November 8 and November 9.
Municipal commissioner and the department heads have been made nodal officers for illumination of their departments.
City magistrate, additional city magistrate, sub-divisional magistrate and district information officer have been named nodal officers for releasing books on the developmental programmes. Chief education officer has been named nodal officer for conducing quiz competition at schools. For sports programme, district sports officer has been made nodal officer while executing engineer, public works department has been appointed the same for inaugural programme.
