The mountain State, Uttarakhand, was again left in the race for getting a representation in the BJP-led NDA Government in the Sunday’s Union Cabinet reshuffle.
MP from Almora and Pithoragarh parliamentary constituency, Ajay Tamta’s hurried a visit to Delhi on Saturday after getting some signals of getting a place in the Union Cabinet. Though the ruling Congress was quite vocal against the BJP-led Central Government for not granting a representation in the Union Cabinet, the BJP leaders on the other hand were hopeful of getting a berth in the Sunday’s reshuffle. But it turned out to be a disappointment.
The BJP leaders refused to comment on the non-inclusion of any name from Uttarakhand, they were of the view that since Cabinet reshuffle is a routine process, so Uttarakhand may be accommodated in the Union Cabinet in near future.
The Cabinet reshuffle has raised hopes of the BJP activists. Uttarakhand was one of a few States where the BJP registered a thumping victory in the general elections and that electoral victory is one of the major factors that made the State BJP hopeful of getting berth for their MPs in the Cabinet.
