Several leaders from Opposition parties slammed the State Government for the worsening law and order situation in the State. Samajwadi Party Uttarakhand State president, Dr Satyanarayan Sachan accused the State Government for failing to check the increasing rate of crimes.
It was police’s complete lapses that led to the escape of Amit Malik alias Bhura from police custody. Police weapons were also looted by some criminals in Baghpat. Ajay Bhatt demanded the resignation of Congress-led Government on moral grounds for failing to check crime rate. Uttarakhand was once known as a peaceful place, but now the crimes are being reported daily. The Government has failed to take measures for restoring security.
