Pauri District Magistrate and District Election Officer (local bodies) Chandra Shekhar Bhatt said that Uttarakhand State Election Commission has issued notification for the byelections of the vacant posts of Nagar Panchayat Swargashram Joonk. He said that the nomination papers can be filed for the by- election to ward number-2 of Nagar Panchayat Swargashram Joonk on 30 October from 10 A.M. to 5P.M. The scrutiny of papers will be done on 31 October.
The date of the withdrawal of nomination has been fixed on 3 November from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. The symbol will be allotted to the candidates on 5 November after 3.P.M. The voting will be held on 19 November on EVMs from 8 A.M to 5 P.M. The counting of votes will be done on 20 November from 8 A.M.
All the formalities regarding the by- election for the vacant post of Nagar Panchayat Swargashram will be done from D.M. Court office lakshmanjhula and the counting of the votes will be conducted in the Government Inter College lakshmanjhula within the jurisdiction of Pauri district. District Magistrate Bhatt instructed the returning officer and the assistant returning officer to conduct the by -election peacefully and impartially.
