Mahesh Negi, member of Pradesh Congress committee (PCC) and chairman of the State Congress sports cell, has joined the BJP. Mahes Negi who has been national champion in athletics three times i.e. in 1981, 1982 and 1983 had been PCC member since 2005.
More so, Negi also fought the assembly elections from Almora’s Dwarahat seat in 2004 and 2007 on Congress ticket. Joining the BJP here Negi said that he had joined the Congress with the hope that it would work for the people and provide good governance.
But today the people are totally upset with corruption, high inflation, unemployment to name a few that they are facing in the present Congress regime, Negi further said.
That is why I have joined the BJP and the BJP is the only party today which can provide good governance and work for all round development of the society.
On his joining the BJP, senior party leader Bhagat Singh Koshyari, expressed hope that Negi’s joining will definitely help the party. He is well aware of issues of Uttarakhand and his experience of working with the people here will strengthen the party base, Koshyari added.
