Seemingly buckling under pressure mounted by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the State Government has finally relieved the former personal secretary to Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Mohammad Shahid on Tuesday following a protracted session of the senior officials with legal experts. Notably, DoPT had issued show-cause notice on August 10 to the tainted IAS setting a deadline of August 11 to report at his previous posting. Sources said the legal experts could not have evolved any formula that could have ensured Shahid staying put in the State despite the show-cause.
