Stalls owners in National Khadi and Gramodyog exhibition at Parade Ground are not happy with the decision of winding up their stalls four days ahead of their schedule due to Gujarat Chief Minsiter and BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s rally in Dehradun on December15. lata Nepali of Raipur said that though “we haven’t received any communique as yet regarding winding up our stalls” but if such thing happens it will definitely affect our business. Other place should be allotted for such rallies as it will affect the business of small entrepreneurs.
She also said that political leaders are only thinking about themselves and are not concern about the entrepreneurs as they are closing our business because of their benefits. Irfan from J&K said that it will definitely affect our business if the fair will closed before December 12. He also said that some other place should be allotted either for the rally or for the fair. Irfan Ahmed of Badoi, Mirzapur said that “we were not aware of this thing earlier” as it is a very sudden decision. “We have given money for 25 days for a stall and if the fair will closed four days ahead it is going to affect our business largely.” Sapna Thappa from Mussorrie said that it is the fault of event organisers that they didn’t informed any stall owner before about such thing. Parade ground is now become a source of earning money and that’s what officials are doing. Four days are enough to earn money for a small entrepreneurs but it seems that “we have to wind up our stalls before December 9,” she added. Sikha Sethi of Dehradun said that the Northern India International Trade Fair (NIITF) has already affecting our business as customers are divided into two parts and now due to Modi’s rally “we have to wind up our stalls before December 9”.
