After the Grandparents’ Day was celebrated it was time for St Thomas’ College to celebrate its ongoing centenary celebrations with the children of a couple of orphanages located in the city. A day with the “underprivileged children” was also a remarkable success, college release said.
The nominated MlA and principal of St Thomas’ College RV Gardner has been an educator for 50 years. He came up with the thought of inviting these underprivileged children to be a part of the centenary celebrations of the esteemed institution, the college sources said.
The idea behind the programme was to make a day memorable for these ‘Underprivileged Children’ and even to make the students of St Thomas’ College realise the importance of being blessed with parents and to nurture in them the spirit of love, care and kindness, the college release stated.
There were approximately 150 children from these orphanages ranging from the age group of 3-16 years of age. A Western dance as well as a Folk dance performances was put up by the students of St Thomas’ College to entertain these enthusiastic children.
