Taking notice of the fact that the sellers of a piece of land located in Kehri village of Dehradun to the Uttar Pradesh Minister Sahab Singh Saini had hidden their scheduled caste status, the court of Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Dehradun has given orders to confiscate the said land.
The wife of Minister, Rita Saini had purchased the land from Tula Ram, Jagta Ram and Nanda Ram in the year 2010. In the deal the purchaser and the sellers had hidden the fact that land owners belong to Scheduled Tribe (residents of Chakrata) community while the norm mandate any such sale should be done after prior permission of the District Magistrate.
Saini is constructing a house on the said 0.0367 hectare of land. It came under scanner of authorities when locals complained that the house is being constructed without any permission.
