The SSB Trained Guerilla Organisation (STGO) will gherao Vidhan Sabha on May 18 against the indifferent attitude of the State Government regarding their plight. The organisation alleged that both Uttarakhand and Central Government have remained apathetic towards the demand of the SSB trained guerilla.
The organisation staged a protest rally against the nonchalance of the State Government in the district headquarters Pauri in which hundreds of SSB trained guerilla converged from different parts of the district.
The SSB Trained Guerilla Organisation central president Brahamadutt Dalakoti said the Congress had assured in their election manifesto during the last Assembly election of Uttarakhand that the guerillas would be absorbed in the State police and home guards. However, the Congress-led State Government has not yet acted on the assurance, he added.
Echoing the view, district unit president Mohan Singh Bhandari, Tehri district president Dinesha Gairola and others said they have been left with no other option but to gherao the Assembly to draw the attention of the apathetic State Government.
“They have been sleeping over the assurance they themselves rolled out. Now, we would not allow them to do so,” Bhandari said.
