Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan State project joint director Praminder Singh Bisht has sought an explanation from Dehradun district education officer as to why no action is being ensured against the schoolteachers remaining absent from their school without prior information to their senior officer. The joint director took the action after he found two teachers absent from duty during the inspection of a Government Primary School Barlowganj (Mussoorie).
Bisht said that he had recently conducted surprise inspection in some schools of Mussoorie and found two teachers deputed in GPS Barlowganj were absent while Bhojan Mata was teaching the students. Both teachers had not submitted leave application to the Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator concerned. In this regard, he has sought an explanation to the DEO (basic) Praminder Saklani and sought a written reply within a week.
In Government High School Jharipani, a clerk had reached the school late by an hour. In this school, only 21 students are enrolled. Despite appointment of seven teachers including a principal in this school, the level of education being provided to the students was not satisfactory. Students failed to solve easy questions of mathematics.
In Mussoorie Girls Inter College, 24 out of 50 students were present. Despite release of fund for construction of kitchen-cum-store room for this school by the department, school principal failed to ensure completion of this work.
