A spot bellied eagle owl straying away from the jungle into a human settlement while under attack from kites and crows was rescued by local snake expert Chandrasen Kashyap and handed over to the Corbett tiger reserve officials. It is considered to be a great work.
locals had informed Kashyap in the morning about an owl on an electricity pole in Bambagher locality.
He found the owl under attack from kites and crows. Using a ladder to climb the electricity pole, he was able to capture the owl and take it home where he administered some treatment to the bird.
later, in the afternoon, he handed over the owl to Corbett director in charge Parag Madhukar Dhakate in the presence of deputy director Amit Verma and divisional forest officer Neha Verma. Dhakate said that the owl would be released into the jungle.
