In a tragic incident, two teenagers, including a schoolgirl, were crushed to death and another girl was injured when a speeding vehicle rammed against the two-wheeler they were riding.
The mishap occurred near Jiyapota village on Haridwar-laksar road on Saturday morning when they were heading towards their school. The onlookeers and passer-bys rushed the injured girl to a hospital. She was stated to be out of danger. The driver in question ran away with his vehicle. He is yet to be arrested till the filing of this story. The bodies of the victims-identified as Rahul (17) and Meenu, (13) have been sent to the district hospital for autopsy, police said. The injured girl was Swati (14).
Speaking to The Pioneer, SHO luxor Ritesh Saha said, “Rahul, Meenu and Swati were riding together on the same bike when the accident happened. Rahul and Meenu died on the spot. The driver ran away with his vehicle. However, we have launched search operation to nab him. He would be arrested soon.”
