Spectators go berserk, create chaos at Parade Ground

Chaos broke loose at the end of the R-Day programmes at Parade Ground on Monday when around 100 spectators were found jostling their way forward, making a mockery of the ‘tight’ police bandobast. This was when Garhwali folk artists were performing. Things remained chaotic for around five minutes. Uttarakhand Governor Dr KK Paul, Chief Minister Harish Rawat, his Cabinet colleagues and senior government officers were present when a section of the spectators went unruly.

Things seemingly spiraling out of control with the people breaking barriers from the Doon Club side, cops stepped in. They chased them. Police were heard asking them to go to their assigned places. later, they were made to leave the ground. However, the R-Day programme went on undisturbed.
