Uttarakhand Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) personnel, whose job involves frequent location changes, need not to worry anymore about members of their families while on duty at a location away from the battalion headquarters as a fresh welfare plan is ready to solve their grievances. The fresh plan, which assures sanctioning of leaves on time, is an effort to keep the morale high, by keeping them free from family worries.
Aimed at keeping the morale of PAC Jawans high, the plan lays emphasis on taking various steps, including free heath examination camp, sports training, swimming training, vocational computer training, essay and debate competition among the members, and settlement to the grievances as top priority. A letter with instructions to implement the plan effectively has been shot off to the Commandants of all the five PAC battalions. The commandants have been asked to implement the welfare plan with an immediate effect and may also give suggestion for further improvements.
Charted out by Deputy Inspector General PAC Sanjay Gunjyal, the plan, which also advocates Yoga session for the members, is an effort to infuse fresh energy and zeal into the PAC Jawans who keep moving from one city to other one during their duty. “By solving the problems and grievances of the members of the jawans’ families as a top priority, we want to keep the morale of the PAC Jawans high. The welfare plan is a sort of assurance to the jawans that would solve the grievances of members of their families on priority basis,” Gunjyal said.
He said that this would promote best things among the jawans and they would deliver their best during duty. At the same time, creative activities, including painting and debate competitions among the members will equip them with knowledge. “Capsule computer courses for the members. It would apprise them basics of computers. They may also be given training in swimming and other sports, including Volleyball, Basket Ball. This would promote sports spirit among them and would also keep them healthy,” the DIG said. He said that medical reimbursement should also be done on priority basis. “In a recent meeting, commandants have been apprised of the new plan and have been asked for its effective implementation. In case of any problem, the senior officials will lend a helping hand to them,” the DIG said, adding that arrangements of solar energy based water heating systems should also be made for the PAC personnel during their camp in high altitudes.
