With the polling date of the lok Sabha elections 2014 inching nearer, leaders of political parties have begun public meeting to woo voters. The Samajwadi Party began its campaign from Nainital Parliamentary constituencies.

In the first stage of election campaign, SP leaders are meeting with party workers and apprising them about party’s strategy and manifesto for the polls, said State SP president Satyanarayan Sachan on Saturday. Sachan claimed that SP would play significant role in the third front Government which will be formed at Centre after the general election.

The SP leader said that in a bid to woo voters and to ensure a high voter turnout, the party has organised a training session with party workers and trained them about how to manage polling booths. In the first phase of the campaign, party workers were apprised about party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav’s message which says the party has huge planning for the people of Uttarakhand and several steps will be taken for their welfare if SP led coalition government forms at the centre.

The party workers have been directed to attend the public meetings of SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav at Roorkee, Haldwani and Kashipur in the second week of April. They also have been told to attend the public meetings of other senior leaders like Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, actor-turned politician Jaya Bachchan, senior SP leaders Mohammad Azam Khan, Naresh Aggarwal and others slated to be held at various places in the State.

According to him, booth management will be one of the key factors in winning elections. In Nainital, he held a meeting with party workers to ensure that people should not have any difficulty in casting their votes for the upcoming lok Sabha polls.  Party workers were told to make sure voters to reach polling booth and facilitate the voters as much as possible. They were also directed to have consistent public contact, hold meetings, participate in their celebration and sorrows of every section of society, keep in touch with new voters and work honestly for the favour of party candidate.

Workers were told to keep a close tab on whether voters got their voter slips or not IJ It is your duty to make sure  delivery of voters slip in their respective areas, he added. Avtar Singh is contesting election from Nainital seat while Bhagwati Prasad Trikot from Almora and Anita Saini from Haridwar.

Sachan further said that Haridwar candidate Anita Saini would win the election by comfortable margin because large numbers of Saini population resides in the constituency apart from this, she would be supported by Muslim population and voters belonging to other backward castes.
