SP to launch 'Mission Uttarakhand': Sachan

Over 100 Samajwadi Party workers from Uttarakhand participated in the SP's national convention held between October 8 and 10 at Janeshwar Mishra Park in Uttar Pradesh, said SP Uttarakhand State president Dr Satyanarayan Sachan while interacting with media persons on Saturday.

The Uttarakhand SP is going to launch 'Mission Uttarakhand' on the occasion of Mulayam Singh Yadav's birth anniversary slated for  November 22.

He alleged that both the national parties — Congress and BJP — have ruled the State for the past 14 years, but failed to fulfil the aspirations of the people. "We will raise the people's concerns from time to time and with people's support, SP's revival in the State is in the offing," he claimed.

Sachan demanded that the State Government should reveal the names of the panelists the search committee had recommended for the post of Vice Chancellor of GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT) who had allegedly adopted deceitful means to get the respectable post.

Dr Sachan further said the proposed political and the economic policies were approved in course of the national working committee meeting and Mulayam Singh Yadav was re-elected as national SP president. Sharad Yadav of Janata Dal (United) was the chief guest on the occasion. Ram Gopal Yadav, MP and party's national general secretary had presented party's economic and political policies during the meeting.

The party condemned the Narendra Modi-led Central Government for aping the policies of the previous Congress- led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) at the Centre. In the past four months, the BJP has dished out several promises but they failed to deliver on the ground. The BJP-led Central Government keeps misleading the people with the help of media corporates.

The SP is for fixing the salaries and social security for the media persons who raise the people's issues. UP Government is intent on acting in this direction which will result in the betterment of the media persons, the fourth pillar of the democracy, he added.
