Some DAV (PG) College staff members have disagreed with the Uttarakhand Chief Minister's statement over College staff members acting partial during the students' union election which resulted in Akhil Bharatiya Vidharthy Parishad candidates winning elections for the past many years. The CM is purported to have said that the college administration should appoint the students' union election president rather than conduct election in the college.
A college staff member said that it is unfortunate that the Chief Minister had cast aspersions on them. College staff members are deeply involved in the students' union election and election is free, fair and transparent manner, thanks to them. Kaushal Kumar who is chief proctor and Congress party member also echoed the same view, saying that the elections in the colleges are being conducted in a free, fair and
transparent manner. College principal Devendra Bhasin,
however, refused to comment on the issue.
