some cops not happy with plan

Despite deployment of heavy police force on roads traffic, congestion is being witnessed between 6pm-8pm everyday.

Some police officers and constables have also expressed their disapproval of the new traffic plan imposed on various roads by the SSP and said they would not comment further on this. DAV (PG) College chief proctor Kaushal Kumar condemned the district police’s new traffic plan said that the plan has doubled the public inconvenience rather solving traffic jams being faced by daily user during evening hours. “I faced traffic jam at Astley Hall, Kanak Chowk, landsdown Chowk, Darshanlal Chowk, Clock Tower and finally reached Motimahal, opposite to Universal Petrol Pump from Dilaram Chowk.

I was supposed to reach this place by round ten minutes, I had to spend around an hour for same distance,” he added. Kumar said, “Police should rectify existing shortcomings in this new traffic plan before implementing it.” Dehradun SP Traffic Pradeep Kumar Rai said that new traffic plan has been imposed on trial mode at various roads between 6 pm and 8 pm in the State capital and it will be implemented after a week.
