In a case involving armed forces, a soldier was brought to the Doon hospital here on Tuesday where doctors declared him brought dead. Reports suggest that the soldier named Rajit Gusain (22) sustained bullet injuries during a training session in the army cantonment area in Maldevta area of Raipur here on Monday. The colleagues of the soldier took him to the Raipur CHC from where he was referred to the Doon hospital.
The doctors at the Doon hospital declared him brought dead and advised the armed forces personnel who accompanied him to shift the body to mortuary for post-mortem. Instead of heeding to the advice of doctors the soldiers took the body of their companion to the cantonment area.
Dr N Bedi who declared the jawan brought dead to hospital told media that the body bore an injury on foot and was of opinion that the bullet wound could be the cause of the death of the soldier. The deceased is reported to belong to Garhwal Rifles of Indian army. Unconfirmed reports suggested that the Rajit Gusain was part of a training contingent; he sustained injury when a bullet ricocheted from a rock hit his thigh. It appears that the soldiers would have been saved if army would have reacted on time.
