Though the warring factions of the Congress guided by the Central leadership were able to send the message of unity from the meeting of Tuesday social distancing norms were thrown astray during the event. In the meeting of Vice Presidents held at the Rajiv Bhawan, the senior leaders like PCC president Pritam Singh, Harish Rawat, Indira Hridayesh and Kishore Upadhyaya remained seated on a bench and were in close physical contact with each other.
Outside the hall where the meeting was being held, the Congress leaders and workers had gathered in large numbers and it was apparent that none of them was bothered about the prevailing pandemic.
