The callous approach of the department concerned could be easily gauged by the fact the department has been carrying the work of laying pavement for the last two weeks, thus causing huge inconvenience to the commuters as the pebbles and other constructing materials are lying idle on the one side of the roads.
Ironically, the work of laying pavement was started by the nodal agency after they repaired the recently dug roads after the completion of the laying of sewage line at Gorkhapur under ward number 32 of Municipal Corporation of Dehradun. Those residents who are living near Vidhan Sabha is experiencing nightmare due to the callous approach of the department concerned.
The work of laying pavement along the roadside is moving at snails pace causing huge inconvenience to the commuters. Besides, the construction that was lying idle along the roadside has also become the one of the major causes for the bumper to bumper traffic and the situation turns deteriorate at the opening and closing school time. Besides, the pebbles lying along the roadside are also proving bane for the two wheelers and situation is equally worst at night. It is also equally important to mention here is that the residents and commuters faced the hardship due to the work of laying the sewage pipeline in the locality and the recently constructed roads have started giving before its stipulated time frame.
One of the department sources who wished anonymity told The Pioneer that the work of laying the pavement would be completed at earliest once the weather improves in the near future. However, he failed to give satisfactory reply when will the work completes. He said that the broken roads would be repaired and patchworks would be started once the weather improves in the near future.
