Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by circle officer Swatantra Kumar on Saturday went to the Rajpur based apartment of the fugitive former special land acquisition officer (SlAO) DP Singh, one of the accused in the multi-crore NH-74 land acquisition scam. The apartment was found locked.
The team members asked local residents about whereabouts of Singh and returned from the apartment. It should be mentioned here that the state High Court had on October 28 had vacated its stay order granting him exemption from police arrest following which Singh had moved Supreme Court and filed a special leave petition to evade police arrest which was later rejected. Since then Singh has been on the run.
