In a new twist to the rape and blackmailing case against Pradeep Sangwan, son of ex-MP Kishan Singh Sangwan, Special Investigation Team (SIT) will arrest Haryana native Ajay Mann, brother-in-law of Sangwan who was in contact with the woman victim and dealing with her to settle the case. The woman victim and her friend Saeed Chaudhary were both arrested on Tuesday and sent to Suddhowala jail after being presented in the district court on Wednesday.
During interrogation, the woman admitted that she had received Rs nine lakh cash from Ajay Mann. A property dealer disclosed that the cost of land (house) purchased by the woman in Banjarawala was
`36 lakh. The flow of `45 lakh unaccounted money in this case will be investigated by Income Tax department, said State Director General of Police BS Sidhu on Wednesday. Moreover, before presenting the woman victim and her friend Chaudhary in the court, SIT team interrogated both and got some vital information related to this case. Saeed Chaudhary said, “I do not know Sangwan and I am being framed by someone in this case.”
The DGP said that the team had also questioned the property dealer from whom the woman had purchased the property at Banjarawala. As per the property dealer, this property was sold for `36 lakh to the woman. However, the cost of land in the registry copy was stated to be `17 lakh. SIT team also questioned the land owner R Bisht’s wife who said, “I was unaware about this deal and was only told to sign on the registry paper.”
Sidhu also said that another charge under section 201 of IPC has been included against Pradeep Sangwan for trying to influence the case with money.
