The four-day annual sports festival of Sai Institute of Paramedical and Allied Sciences (SIPAS) began here on Friday. The event was jointly inaugurated by SIPAS chairperson Rani Arora and chairman Harish Arora.

Addressing the gathering, Rani Arora said that co-curricular activities played a vital role as far as the physical fitness of the students was concerned. “We want our students to improve not only in academic education but also in the sports which in turn will help them to maintain health and refresh themselves after their studies,” she added. Harish Arora said that the main aim of organising the event was to refresh the students whose examinations have just ended.

Mass Communication HoD Jatender Sinha said that such events can help students cultivate patience and leadership qualities. Such events should be organised on a regular basis to entertain the students and encourage healthy competition, he added. Students participated in various sports including table tennis, cricket, football, kho kho and other activities on the occasion.
