Many programmes were held in the State capital on Saturday to mark the death anniversary of the founder of Jana Sangh Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. A seminar was held in the State party office on the day to mark the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the State party chief Ajay Bhatt paid glowing tributes Mukherjee and said that his sacrifice would always be remembered by a grateful nation.
He said that Dr Mukherjee in 1952 had publicly declared that he would march to Kashmir to protest against two constitutions ( Vidhan), two flags ( Nisan) and two heads ( Pradhan) existing then in the state. “But he was arrested after he stepped into Kashmir, was sent to jail where his precious life ended under mysterious circumstances,” he said. He further said that the BJP owes its origin to the Jana Sangh founded by the towering nationalist.
The national vice -president and state in charge of the party Shyam Jaju said that BJP never vacillates from its ideology and is committed to national interest. The media in-charge of the party Devendra Bhasin said that the principles for which Dr Mukherjee sacrificed his life are still relevant.
