The Head of Department (Surgery) Dr RK Verma at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital informed that ordinarily three to four incisions were required in stomach operations like those of gall bladder, appendix, hernia, etc. but at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, such operations are being carried out with just a single minor incision over the umblicus of the patient. In the operations carried out by this most modern technique, the scar of operation gets hidden under the umblicus of the patient.
This is the reason that this technique of surgery is gaining so much popularity among the youth, who are very much concerned about their physical appearance and looks. According to him, the patient has to bear minimum pain in operations done by means of SIlS technique ad the success of such operations depends upon the experience and efficiency of the surgeon.
