Short supply of subsidised food grains irks Speaker

Published on:

With Speaker of Uttarakhand legislative Assembly Govind Singh Kunjwal expressing concern over the short supply of subsidised food grains to different hilly areas of the region particularly in Almora for the past three months a few days ago, the Almora district administration on Friday asked the officials concerned to ensure smooth supply of subsidised food grains and to take action against those who are found indulging in black marketing.

There are complaints from public representatives and people regarding black marketing of food grains and kerosene oil. Therefore, all the officials concerned need to conduct random checking in their respective areas so that corrective measures could be taken to ensure smooth supply of subsidised food grains, said Akshat Gupta, District Magistrate, Almora.

He also asked the respective SDMs and other officials concerned to send reports regarding availability of food grain stocks regularly to the district administration.
