A delegation of Chakrata Road Shopkeepers and Residents Welfare Society recently met Cabinet Minister Yashpal Arya against land acquisition on Chakrata Road. According to the society general secretary Rajesh Goyal, Arya assured them that he would soon talk to the CM on this issue and ensure that injustice is not done to anyone.
The society have been staging protest against the planned land acquisition by the MDDA for redevelopment of the Chakrata Road. They allege that the officials concerned are trying to orchestrate a major scam. Various political, business and social groups have so far extended their support to the protest against the planned land acquisition.
