The Shiv Sena organised Maha Arti programmes at various locations in the State on Saturday evening to push for swift construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. The Shiv Sena’s Uttarakhand chief Gaurav Kumar informed that such events were held at temples in Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Devprayag, Srinagar, Kotdwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Haldwani and Nainital among other places. The events were held in solidarity with the Maha Arti which Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray participate in on the banks of Sarayu river in Ayodhya. In Dehradun, the party’s state chief criticised the protracted delay in construction of the temple in Ayodhya where lord Ram was born. To act against this delay, the party’s top leadership had decided to raise the issue of Ram temple prominently which has been eliciting support from various parts of Uttarakhand too, said Kumar.
