The Shiv Sainiks in Dehradun participated in a voluntary blood donation camp held in the Doon Hospital to mark the foundation day of the Shiv Sena on Sunday.

The Uttarakhand Shiv Sena chief Gaurav Kumar said that to mark the 50th foundation day of the Shiv Sena, Shiv Sainiks from across India converged in Mumbai to reaffirm their commitment to carry forward work as envisioned by the Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray.

Kumar said that the late Thackeray had laid the foundation of the Shiv Sena on June 19, 1966 with the aim of protecting the rights of the natives, bringing about egalitarianism in society, helping the oppressed and to provided all possible assistance to those in need.

He further said that Shiv Sainiks are eager for eradication of rampant corruption in Uttarakhand and from across the country. In order to weed out corruption from Uttarakhand, the conch has been blown to start the struggle in public interest.

Recalling his recent Kumaon tour, Kumar said that the people are irked because instead of meeting the needs of the public and resolving their issues, the Ministers of the State Government and bureaucrats are busy trying to achieve their personal aims-which will not be tolerated.

In the Doon Hospital, Shiv Sainiks donated blood to mark the occasion in the presence of Shiv Sena district head Amit Karnwal, city head Ashish Singhal and others
