The Association of Shiksha Acharyas and Instructors has threatened to launch an aggressive agitation if their demand of being adjusted as Shiksha Mitras is not accepted soon. Interestingly the state cabinet had accepted their demand in its meeting on February 28 this year but required Government Order (GO) for their adjustment is still not released.

The Shiksha Acharyas are sitting on an indefinite Dharna at the Old Raipur Bus stand near the Parade ground here from June 3, 2012 in demand of their single point agenda of inclusion into Shiksha Mitras.

On the 773 day of their Dharna on Tuesday a meeting was organised at the Dharna site. The President of Shiksha Acharyas / Instructor Association D S Bisht  that the state cabinet had taken a decision to adjust 910 Shiksha Acharyas as Shiksha Mitras on February 28 but the government is yet to release the GO. He said that resentment among the members of the association is increasing and said that association would soon launch an aggressive agitation. Bisht said that delegation of association has met senior officers, Education Minister and Chief Minister on the issue but nothing has happened.

The Shiksha Acharyas were employed at a paltry wage of Rs 2500 per month to bring out of the school children in fold of elementary education under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) in the year 2001.
