The Society for Health, Education & Women Empowerment Awareness (SHEWA) celebrated Children’s Day with kids from various slums located in the Jakhan area. The NGO took the opportunity of birth anniversary of Pandit Jawahar lal Nehru to spread awareness about child rights among people. This programe was sponsored with the help of the Sanjay Orthopedic Spine and Maternity Centre, Dehradun. Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, director of Sanjay Orthopedic Spine and Maternity Centre, Dr BKS Sanjay said that the life of Chacha Nehru inspires us to build a strong nation. He exhorted the children to lead a disciplined life and follow the great principles of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Dr. Sujata Sanjay said the motive of SHEWA Society is aware the women and children regarding their health and develop a healthy Uttarakhand. She medically examined the health of children of the area and advised them to eat green leafy vegetables and milk product. She made an appeal to the people to accept the children with special needs as a part of the society.
