Former head of the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India and managing director of Shervani Hilltop hotel in Nainital, Saeed Shervani said that it is vital to establish coordination among the hotel association of Nainital, local administration and other bodies to ensure good facilities and convenience to tourists arriving here. Addressing the media here, he said that currently the condition of roads has improved considerably which has made travel convenient for the people. With more people preferring to travel by road, the number of tourists and vehicles reaching Nainital is bound to rise further in the future. Shervani said that the district administration and hotel association should also open booking counters at the entry points of the city so that any tourist coming here without booking can do so before entering the city. While the government earns considerable revenue from the tourism industry in Nainital, many locals also gain employment. Considering this, the district administration and the locals will also have to play a role in enhancing the tourism business here. He also stressed on the need for raising awareness among both locals and the tourists to ensure that the arrival of tourists does not impact the environment and beauty of Nainital negatively.
