To give a musical tribute to the brave soldiers from Uttarakhand, a programme named ‘Shaurya’ is going to be organised in the town hall on August 23. The event aims to propagate contribution of the soldiers and their selfless dedication to the cause of the nation.

The Uttarakhand-based singer Anukriti Gusain will be performing classical songs at the event. Besides,  a Garhwali song sung by her for the soldiers of Uttarakhand will be released during the programme.

Informing the media persons during a press conference on Tuesday,  father of Anukriti Gusain, Rajendra Singh Negi said, “We feel that the state government should do something to promote the talent of the Uttarakhand. We have a very rich culture and talent which need to come out. People from other states come here and get the opportunity, but our children are left behind. If the condition remains the same  not just  the Garhwali  regional  songs but the classical music will  be lost in the coming days.”

Subhashini Negi, mother of Anukriti Gusain, said, “Even though  the folk songs are given exposure t very little attention is being given to the classic or regional songs of the state. The Bollywood songs gain popularity  overnight, but it is nothing as compared to the appeal of the classical music which  is s timeless."
