Triggering criticism, the statue of Shaktimaan, the police horse which succumbed to its injuries sustained in one of its hinder legs during a BJP led protest rally on March 14 was put at a place near the Vidhan Sabha on Saturday and on Monday night the statue was suddenly removed from there.
Coming quick to slam the ‘dramatic’ shifting of the statue at the behest of CM, the State BJP president Ajay Bhatt said it was part of the politics of taking mileage out of the unfortunate death of the state horse by maligning the Opposition party. He also linked the matter to ‘superstition’ spawned by an astrologer’s prediction.
“We are sure that CM Harish Rawat is acting on the advice of a noted astrologer who asked him to steer clear of the horse for the sake of his survival in the State politics. He seems befuddled as to what to do. He is thus shifting the statue from place to place, wondering about what to do with it finally,” Bhatt said.
Taking a dig at the Government, he further said that the people are wondering too about what to do with the Government run by an unstable and superstitious mind. “This can account for the development remaining paralysed in the state with a few people looting the state,” Bhatt said.
Bhatt regretted the death of Shaktimaan, saying that all were upset with what had happened to it. “We are no exception. However, CM Rawat is desperate to milk the tragic matter to malign the BJP. But such gimmickry cannot cut ice with the people. All know that the horse had one of its legs bruised as it got in the parapets. later, it was operated upon and in 24 hours, it was forced to stand on its injured leg. The treatment meted out to the horse was wrong from the beginning, proving finally fatal. The leg was gravely infected and it developed gangrene. However, the CM was unfazed by what happened to the hapless animal and went out of his way to play vendetta politics against BJP. BJP MlA Ganesh Joshi was booked and sent behind bar at his behest. He was barred from participating the Assembly proceedings when the Assembly was taking up the crucial Money Bill,” said the BJP leader.
Slamming the CM for ignoring the real martyrs who died on the borders while safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and the policemen who died while doing duties, Bhatt said Rawat had chosen to play sectarian and malicious politics against his political detractors.
